Zemari Ahmadi, 43, (inest top left) was driving the 1996 Toyota Corolla that was destroyed in the August 29 drone strike, killing him and nine family members, including seven children (right), according to a New York Times investigation. The Pentagon still acknowledges that only three civilians died, despite the family now detailing how their 10 relatives were killed in the Hellfire missile blast. Ahmadi worked for US-based aid group Nutrition and Education International, and spent the day running routine errands for the group, loading nothing into the car other than jugs full of water (main) to bring home to his family, the Times reported, citing witnesses and surveillance video footage. The Pentagon has insisted that Ahmadi's movements linked him to an ISIS-K safehouse, and that there were explosives in his vehicle intended to be used in a suicide attack on US troops in the final hours of the Kabul evacuation. 'This was a righteous strike,' said Joint Chiefs Chairman General Mark A. Milley last week, claiming that Ahmadi was an 'ISIS facilitator'.

'That's correct': Psaki brushes off question over why Biden is mandating vaccines for companies with 100 employees but NOT migrants coming across the border in feisty exchange with Peter Doocy from Fox News

White House press secretary brushed off a question Friday about why businesses must require vaccinations for their employees but there isn't a policy for vaccinating immigrants. The Homeland Security Department said in a report early last month that it was monitoring the situation at the border but did not make a final decision on whether to provide Johnson & Johnson shots to migrants who come into US custody. She got asked about the juxtaposed policies by Fox News correspondent Peter Doocy, who regularly peppers Biden with questions about the border. The reporter at first asked her 'why is it it that you're trying to require anybody with a job, or anybody who has a job, or anybody who goes to school, to get a COVID-19 vaccine, but you're not requiring that of migrants who continue to walk across the southern border.'

Moment Florida deputy gets shot and beaten with butt of AR-15-style rifle by passenger who burst out of car during traffic stop before cop's partner saves his life by killing career criminal in shootout

Dashcam footage shows the moment deputies Brian Potters (top left) and Tyler Thoman (top right) were ambushed by a gunman, prompting a shootout leaving suspect Paris Wilder (bottom right), 38, dead and Potters severely injured. The officers pulled over a car on West New Haven Avenue in Melbourne, Florida, in a routine traffic stop off of I-95 on Monday, August 30. When Potters asked a passenger to exit the car, Wilder jumped out 'with a small stock AR-15-styled rifle' and started shooting. He then used the butt of the gun to beat Potters, prompting Thoman to use fatal force to 'eliminate the threat'. Wilder was a career criminal with 40 previous arrests and the Sheriff's Office said he was out on bond avoiding another arrest when the shooting took place. The investigation is ongoing and both deputies have been placed on paid administrative leave, which is customary in all deputy-involved shootings.

President Biden announced aggressive new measures to ramp up COVID vaccinations in the US that will affect roughly two-thirds of the entire American workforce. That comes out to about 100 million Americans, including 80 million private sector employees and others under OSHA jurisdiction. The governors of several states are already readying to mount legal challenges to the unprecedented new rule. Here's what we know so far on who exactly is affected, who isn't, whether it's legal and how the Supreme Court ruled in its two previous vaccine mandate cases.

Dr Hans Kluge, the WHO's Europe director, said new strains of Covid will continue to emerge and the virus will remain with us like the flu, so vaccination strategies need to be adapted.

Comedians Fuquan Johnson, 42, Enrico Colangeli, 48, and Natalie Williamson, 33, overdosed and died at Quigley's house party. Quigley opened up about her drug-taking, partying and even shoplifting during the pandemic on a podcast interview just three days before the overdose. In the interview on podcast Uncle Joey's Joint, Quigley, 39, and comedian Joey Diaz discussed the alcohol and drug addictions rife among comedians. 'I did start microdosing mushrooms during this whole period. Holy s*** that has helped me so much with everything, anxiety, depression, everything,' she said. Diaz discussed dirty cuts of cocaine, with Quigley agreeing that she too had 'smelled' bad odors in the drugs she snorted.

'Don't blame the terrorists for 9/11': Florida college students say worst attack on US soil should be taught without 'placing blame' to avoid Islamophobia and curriculum should not perpetuate 'American exceptionalism'

Students from the University of Florida believe that education about the 9/11 attacks 'should avoid placing blame' and 'American exceptionalism,' according to a student reporter. Campus Reformer student reporter Ophelie Jacobson spoke with students on her campus to discuss their opinions how on how the attacks of 9/11 should be taught. Most students said that they did not remember learning about the 9/11 attacks extensively during their schooling. The students were resistant to curriculums that they worried would instill ideas of Islamaphobia, Imperialism, Colonialism, and American exceptionalism.

A new study found that firefighters who worked Ground Zero during and after the 9/11 attacks were 13% more likely of being diagnosed with cancer than their colleagues who didn't work at the WTC.

Phil Penman took some of the most harrowing photos of the September 11 2001 terrorist attacks in NYC. He returned to Ground Zero last month to photograph the same spots 20 years on.

On the morning of September 11, 2001, 19 Al-Qaeda terrorists successfully hijacked four planes. At 8:46am, hijackers crashed an American Airlines plane into the North Tower of the World Trade Center. A second plane was flown into the South Tower just over 15 minutes later, at 9:03am. Hijackers then crashed a plane into the Pentagon at 9:37am. By 10:30am, both towers had collapsed, leaving a wake of devastation and covering downtown New York in a black cloud of debris and rubble. Now, figures from media, entertainment, politics, and medicine - including Ashleigh Banfield (top left), Michael Rapaport (bottom left) and Martha Stewart (bottom center) - are speaking out to share their memories of that day, revealing the recollections that are forever seared into their minds. Real Housewives of New York star Dorinda Medley (bottom right) recalled racing to get her daughter Hannah out of school, while Dr. Mehmet Oz revealed how he was performing open heart surgery when he heard about the attacks. Cindy McCain (top right), wife of late US Senator John McCain, shared her fears for her husband, who was supposed to have been attending a meeting at the Pentagon when it was hit by a plane.

St. Nicholas Church, which was the only house of worship destroyed during the 9/11 attacks, will reopen with a lighting ceremony on Friday ahead of the 20th anniversary of the attacks. The original building at 155 Cedar Street was first converted to a church in 1916. The new St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church and National Shrine is located at 130 Liberty Street cross the street from the 9/11 Memorial South Pool and the 9/11 Memorial and Museum. Vicar General Father Alexander Karloutsos said he wants the new St. Nicholas Church to honor the 3,000 lives 'that no longer bring love and warmth to those around them and so we believe that this shrine will be their light.' Father Alexander said the church wants to offer reflection and meditation to those of all faiths. While continuing to serve as a house of worship the new church will now also host events and exhibitions to commensurate the tragedy of the lives lost on September 1, 2001.

'Have at it. We're playing for real here': Biden takes on Republicans threatening to overturn his vaccine mandates and attacks them for being 'cavalier with kids' health' at school speech with Jill

President Joe Biden brushed back at Republicans who have vowed to go to court to overturn his 'unconstitutional' vaccine mandates, telling them: 'Have at it.' Biden issued the taunt to his rivals while visiting a DC school, where he touted his plan to require school officials to get vaccinated if their school or district takes federal money, as part of a sweeping series of vaccine mandates that also includes all federal workers and contractors. He was asked how he would respond to GOP governors and critics who have vowed to sue and accused him of 'overreach.' 'Have at it,' Biden responded, while touring a DC school that is educating masked students in a highly vaccinated environment. 'I am so disappointed that particularly some Republican governors have been so cavalier with the health of these kids, so cavalier with the health of their communities,' he said. The Republican National Committee threatened to sue to roll back Biden's new vaccine orders within hours after he issued them Thursday, calling the effort 'unconstitutional.' 'Many small businesses and workers do not have the money or legal resources to fight Biden's unconstitutional actions and authoritarian decrees,' RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel.

'Our only choice was to ram it': Air Force pilots recall knowing they had launched a SUICIDE mission to bring down United 93 on 9/11 because there was no time to arm their jets before takeoff

Lieutenant General Marc Sasseville (left) and Heather Penney (right) set out on a suicide mission to stop hijacked United Flight 93 headed to the capital on 9/11. The pilots took it upon themselves to immediately take off in their F-16s and didn't have time to arm their jet with missiles or complete a pre-flight check. 'Our only choice was going to be to ram the airliner,' Penney said, adding that Sasseville took the cockpit 'to aim at the terrorists' and she 'would take the tail'. 'I genuinely believed that was going to be the last time I took off. If we did it right, this would be it,' Penney said of the plan to use themselves as kamikazes. But unbeknownst to them when they took off, the passengers of Flight 93 had already fought back and drove the plane into a field in Shanksville, Pennsylvania (inset). All 44 passengers on board Flight 93 were killed in the crash-landing and it was the only hijacked plane on 9/11 not to hit its intended target.

Photographer Michael Grecco recalls the decade he embedded himself in the festering underground of punk music during the late 1970s and 80s. As a college student, he went out every night, trolling the bowels of Boston from one basement to the next, always with a camera in hand. Porizkova, 56, took to Instagram on Friday to share a video of her recent session with emotional freedom technique (EFT) practitioner Brad Yates on Friday. The footage shows her crying as she taps her head, face, and chest with her fingers while Yates walks her through her emotional issues via Zoom. EFT, also known as the tapping technique, is used to relieve anxiety and emotional pain by tapping on pressure points. Porizkova said she discovered tapping a year ago when she was 'truly drowning,' saying she was skeptical at first but it 'actually works.' Her recent session was about feeling 'dumped' after the end of a relationship, but she insisted it had 'nothing at all to do' with her ex-boyfriend Aaron Sorkin. It's unclear how much she paid for the therapy, but a year of one-on-one coaching with Yates costs $20,000 upfront or 10 monthly payments of $2,5000. Porizkova has been candid about her struggles with depression, anxiety, and anger following her estranged husband Ric Ocasek's death in September 2019. They were going through a divorce when The Cars frontman secretly cut her out of his will and left her without any money, including her own earnings.
